About Us

Whether you’re new to cycling, a weekend warrior, or even a competitive rider, we understand how overwhelming…and at times frustrating…it can be when researching and/or purchasing a new bike and all the necessary gear and components that go with it. Not to mention how time-consuming the entire process can be!

To make things easier…and hopefully a bit more enjoyable…we built a site filled with detailed buying guides, comprehensive product reviews, and loads of articles that contain useful tips & advice.

Our mission is not only to help you make the most informed decisions possible throughout your cycling journey but to ensure you get the most out of your time on the bike!

Meet the Team

All the content on Bicycle Review Guru is researched, curated, and written by a team of highly experienced and knowledgeable cyclists. This ensures we can provide you with the most accurate and up-to-date information possible.

So, whether you’re an avid cyclist, an occasional rider, or anything in between, our experts have got you covered.

Now, let’s introduce the team…

Michael Van Gerpen – Founder & Chief Editor

Michael Van Gerpen is the founder and chief editor of Bicycle Review Guru. Although he’s been an endurance sports junkie the majority of his adult life, it wasn’t until training for his first Half Ironman triathlon over 10 years ago that he fell in love with the sport of cycling. Today, when he’s not challenging himself on the bike in his hometown of Omaha, Nebraska, his passion is sharing his knowledge and expertise to help others get the most out of their cycling journey.

How We Operate

Everything written on Bicycle Review Guru is original content and has been designed to educate and inform. Our intent is to help our readers identify the best options and solutions that fit their needs whether they’re on a budget or looking for the highest quality cycling products available.

Each product review, buying guide, and educational article is structured in a way that provides our readers with clarity and direction when researching their next purchase, learning how to customize their bike, or staying up-to-date on anything cycling-related.

Any suggestions on future articles or on how to make this website better can be submitted through our Contact Page.
